Merti Integrated Development Programme (MID-P)
Coordinating community-led self-improvement and sustainable development in Merti since 2000 — registered nationally in 2003 and partnered with global development agencies.
Our origin & growth
MID-P began when ActionAid Kenya wound down the Merti Development Area programme in 2000. Community groups in Merti — previously supported by AAK — came together to continue and coordinate self-improvement actions. With a vision for sustainable, locally‑led development, MID-P formalised its structure and registered as a national NGO with the NGO Coordination Bureau in 2003. From 2005 onward MID-P began attracting additional funding and technical support from other donors, enabling expansion of programmes and partnerships.
